This session will focus on issues explored by Jarrid Green, senior research associate at the Democracy Collaborative, in a recently released report, “Community Control of Land & Housing.” Topics such as displacement borne out of policies and impacts of Community Land Trusts, Limited Equity Housing Cooperatives, Community Benefit Agreements, Resident Owned Communities and Land Banks will all be discussed. The report also made recommendations and highlighted the ways anchor institutions can support the scaling of these strategies (with acknowledgment of their own role in shaping current dynamics).
