Latinos are now the majority population in many cities and an increasingly important factor in elections. They are also a part of the reinvestment movement and have developed large numbers of community development corporations, Community Development Financial Institutions, workforce efforts and community organizations. After the 2016 election and the failure to respond to the devastation of Puerto Rico, the community needs to double down on its efforts to build power.
